My love for bikinis started early. My love for knitting came later but, once the two passions converged, my life took a new direction.

The summer of 2005 I knit myself a gold lamé, barely-there string bikini that made me feel like a Bond girl. The construction needed improvement for me to feel confident in water, though, which prompted a string of what if’s ­— what if the knit fabric clung to my body better? What if quick-drying yarns were used instead of water-retaining ones? What if the hardware was as decorative as jewelry? What if it was machine-made instead of by hand? What if it was packaged in a smart, travel-ready pouch? My pursuit to reimagine the knit bikini began and — thanks to modern technology, innovative materials and 3 rigorous years of research and development — I launched Elizabeth Kosich New York in 2008. Mission accomplished — the classic knit bikini, reinvented.

My designs have since been featured in print, film and online, which includes 8 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit placements to date. One of 35 fashion designers chosen by the Bloomberg Administration for FIT’s Design Entrepreneurs NYC program, I’m a graduate of DENYC’s Class of 2013.

My creative journey continues to evolve. In 2018 I launched The EveryBody Wrap® — a simple dressing system that flatters every body shape, size and age. In 2019 I completed my Image Consulting degree from New York City's Fashion Institute of Technology, solidifying my expertise in body shape, fit, proportion, color analysis and personal styling. A bespoke service, Elizabeth Kosich Styling extends these tools to private clients to build persuasive personal brands through wardrobe. All endeavors are fueled by my ongoing commitment to help women everywhere feel beautiful and confident.
