Exactly 20 years ago today I arrived to New York City on a red eye from California. I knew only 2 people, faced starting over professionally and slept on the hardwood floor of my apartment for 2 weeks until my furniture arrived. To this day I can't remember sleeping more soundly. Most would have been terrified by the change, but I felt free. Free to be creative, free to pursue my own ideas and free to express myself fully. I have absolutely no idea where I found the courage to do it but, man, am I glad I had the stones. It's been a ride of both agony and ecstasy, but worth it. Thank you New York.
